1. Liberty opened an eight-game homestand with a 7-3 setback to No. 11 Virginia, Tuesday. The homestand is the Flames' longest of the season.
2. This weekend, No. 23 Coastal Carolina will be the second nationally ranked team, the Flames will face this season. Earlier this week, No. 11 Virginia was the first national ranked team Liberty faced in 2016. Coastal Carolina tops the Big South standings with a 13-2 conference record.
3. Liberty and Coastal Carolina will meet for the final time as Big South opponents during the regular season, this weekend. The Flames have played the Chanticleers the most of any team in program history. Coastal Carolina and Liberty will be meeting for the 94th time, Friday.
4. The Flames are 14-8 at Liberty Baseball Stadium in 2016. However, Liberty has dropped its last three home games.

• 1B/OF Andrew Yacyk was named to the 2016 Academic All-District 3 team selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America, Thursday.
• Yacyk leads the Flames in doubles, home runs, RBI and total bases. He tied for third in the Big South with 15 doubles, tied for 10th with six home runs, ninth with 37 RBI and eighth with 92 total bases.
• 3B Andrew Kowalo had two hits, including a three-run home run, his fourth of the season, in Liberty's 10-7 win at William & Mary, April 27 . He tied a career-high with three RBI.
• Kowalo, OF Jack Morris, and C Payton Scarbrough each hit a home run in Liberty's 4-2 win over Presbyterian, April 22.
• Morris had a two-out, two-run triple, Tuesday night against Virginia.
• C Josh Latta collected a career-high three hits, a double and two RBI at William & Mary, April 27. He also scored twice.
• CF D.J. Artis collected two hits, walked twice, drove in two runs and scored twice, April 26 against Virginia Tech. 2B/OF Will Shepherd, LF Andrew Yacyk and SS Dalton Britt also had two hits apiece for the Flames.
• 1B Sammy Taormina also hit his second home run of the season in the contest.
• Artis leads the Big South with a .511 on base percentage and is tied for the conference lead with 21 stolen bases. The OF is second with 41 walks, third with a .375 batting average and is tied for fifth with 40 runs scored.
• Over his last 10 games, SS Dalton Britt is hitting .463. Six of his 19 hits during the span have been doubles.
• Britt started his 200th consecutive game in the first game of Liberty's doubleheader against Kent State on March 19. Britt has now started 225 straight games. The senior has started every Liberty contest since joining the Flames in 2012. He is on pace to break Trey Wimmer's (2009-14) career record of 235 games played.
• RHP Shane Quarterley made his 22nd appearance, Tuesday night against Virginia. He leads the Flames in appearances and is currently, tied for third in the Big South in the category. Quarterley is also second in saves (6).
• RHP Evan Mitchell gave up two runs, one unearned on five hits, posting his third complete game, in his last start, a 4-2 win over Presbyterian, on April 22. Currently, he is fourth in the Big South and leads the Flames with a 2.05 ERA. He is also 10th in the conference with a .225 opposing batting average.
Yacyk Named to CoSIDA Academic All-District 3 Team
• First baseman/outfielder Andrew Yacyk was selected to the 2016 NCAA Division I Academic All-District 3 baseball team selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America, Thursday.
• The team honors excellence in the classroom and on the baseball diamond. Yacyk was named to the team as an infielder.
• The junior, enters the weekend, hitting .306 with 37 RBI and 24 runs scored in 45 games, this season. He has collected 16 doubles, a triple, and six home runs, while posting a .455 slugging percentage and a .381 on base percentage.
• The Hagerstown, Md., native leads the Flames leads the Flames in doubles, home runs, RBI and total bases (92) and is also among the Big South leaders in several categories. Yacyk is tied for third in the conference with 15 doubles, tied for 10th with six home runs, ninth with 37 RBI and eighth with 92 total bases.
• Off the field, Yacyk is majoring in biomedical studies. He has been named to the Big South Presidential Honor Roll as both a freshman and sophomore.
