
Liberty Opens Home Slate With 6-3 Win Over George Washington

Liberty used a five-run fourth inning to push past George Washington, 6-3 in the Lady Flames’ home opener, Friday at Kamphuis Field at Liberty Softball Stadium.
The Lady Flames (6-5) extended their winning streak to six games, including 1-0 at the Liberty Softball Classic. Meanwhile, George Washington falls to 3-7 after going 1-1 today. The Colonials defeated Maine 9-1 in six innings in today’s first game.

Turning Point
- After giving up a fourth-inning run to go behind 1-0. Liberty responded with five runs in the home half. Griffin led off with a double and scored on a one-out single by Keeney. Canetto, Howard and Hudson all came through with RBI hits in the inning, pushing the lead to 5-1.
- George Washington scored twice in the top of the fifth, but Keeney fanned Ponce for the third out. Wagoner tossed two scoreless innings for the save.
