Oregon Earns 3-2 Game 1 Walk-Off Win Over Liberty in Supers Opener

EUGENE, Ore. - Oregon's Dezianna Patmon hit a walk-off single in the bottom of the eighth inning, giving the Ducks a 3-2 win over the visiting Liberty Lady Flames in the first game of the 2025 NCAA Eugene Super Regional, Friday at Jane Sanders Stadium.
The Ducks, the No. 16 national seed, improve to 52-8 on the season, and they are now one win away from making their first Women's College World Series appearance since 2018. In order to qualify for the WCWS for the first time, Liberty (50-14) would have to beat Oregon tomorrow and Sunday.Â

Turning Point
• The Lady Flames tied the game at 2-2 with a two-out, pinch-hit RBI single by Alexia Carrasquillo in the sixth inning.
• In the bottom of the eighth inning, Kedre Luschar led off with a single. She then stole second. A flyout advanced Luschar to third. After a walk to Paige Sinicki, Patmon slapped a walk-off single up the middle.
Notable Numbers
• Liberty outhit Oregon 8-7 for the game, with the Lady Flames' one error leading to two unearned runs. Both teams turned one double play. The guests left eight runners on base, compared to seven stranded by the hosts.
• Stacy Chambers (3-0) earned the win, allowing just one hit while striking out one in 2 1/3 innings of relief.
• Elena Escobar (25-4) drew the tough-luck loss, allowing three runs (one earned) on seven hits, walking five.
• Oregon's Kai Luschar went 3-for-4 with a triple, RBI and one run scored. Patmon, who hit a walk-off three-run homer on Sunday to send Oregon to Supers, went 1-for-4 with one RBI. Stefini Ma'ake batted 1-for-4 with one RBI.
• Savannah Woodard batted 2-for-4 for Liberty, while Coburg, Ore., native Paige Doerr went 2-for-4 with a double, one RBI and one run. Doerr also robbed a homer in the bottom of the first inning. Rachel Craine and Alexia Carrasquillo both went 1-for-1, with Carrasquillo driving one run.
Beyond the Box Score
• Oregon has won both meeting with Liberty all-time in softball, with the first meeting being at last year's NFCA Leadoff Classic in Clearwater, Fla.Â
• Liberty is 3-8 against Top 25 opponents this season, including 2-2 against nationally-ranked foes in the NCAA Division I Softball Championship.
• The Lady Flames are now 12-12 all-time in NCAA postseason games under current 12th-year Head Coach Dot Richardson and 12-16 overall in the postseason.
• Liberty is the seventh NCAA Super Regional participant in CUSA softball history and first since UAB in 2013.Â
• The Lady Flames are 1-2 in extra-inning games this season, with all three games coming since the end of the regular season. Liberty is 1-3 all-time in extra-inning contests in the NCAA Division I Softball Championship.
• Madrey has reached base safely in each of the last 22 games, while Roupe's reached base streak goes to 19 and Woodard's to 13.
