
Liberty Walks Off No. 24 DBU 7-6 in 10 Innings

After left fielder Grant Jay homered with two outs in the top of the ninth inning to give the Patriots a 6-4 lead, Liberty battled back to send the game to extra innings in the bottom of the ninth. Right fielder Camden Troyer tripled with one out and scored on a ground out to move the Flames to within one run with two outs. Down to his final strike, first baseman Jaxon Sorenson belted his team-leading 14th home run off the video board in left center field to tie the game at 6-6.
In the bottom of the 10th, catcher Tucker Moore lined a double off the left center field wall and center fielder Michael Robertson reached on a bunt single to open the inning. After third baseman Easton Swofford was intentionally walked, Marsh provided a fly ball to plate Moore for the Liberty victory.
Marsh also had two hits and scored two runs in the contest. Second baseman Landon Scilley had two hits, including his fifth home run of the season, and drove in two runs for the Flames.
Liberty moves to 30-24 overall and 10-16 in CUSA play. Dallas Baptist sees its eight-game winning streak come to an end. The Patriots fall to 37-14 overall and 20-6 in CUSA.
