EVANSVILLE, IND. – The Liberty Flames and the Southern Indiana Screaming Eagles played to a 2-2 draw in an Ohio Valley Conference match, Thursday afternoon at Strassweg Field.
Liberty jumped out to a 2-0 lead, only to see host USI rally over the final 23 minutes for the tie in the Flames' first conference road game of the season.
Sam Farner scored Liberty's first goal minutes into the game and assisted on the Flames' second goal in the second half. Zach Lifferth, Liberty's leading scorer, scored his team-leading seventh goal of the season in the opening minutes of the second half for the Flames' second goal.
Liberty moves to 2-1-1 in the OVC and 6-3-3 overall. USI is now 1-1-2 in conference and 2-7-2 overall.
