
McIntire Leads Liberty Quad Heptathlon

Liberty redshirt junior Tevan McIntire scored 2,795 points during Sunday's four heptathlon events at the Tolsma Indoor Track Center, taking the lead after the opening day of the Liberty Quad.
Competing in his first heptathlon of the season, McIntire recorded the best mark of the five competitors in all four disciplines. He ran 7.38 seconds for the 60-meter dash, long jumped 21-8, threw the shot put 39-0.25 and wrapped up his afternoon with a 6-3.25 high jump clearance.
McIntire owns a 503-point advantage over freshman teammate Zach Gilroy, who currently sits in second place with a best-ever day one score of 2,292 points. Gilroy was aided by a personal-best 6-2 high jump clearance.
The remainder of the Liberty Quad events will be contested on Monday inside the Tolsma Indoor Track Center, beginning at 12:30 p.m. with the pentathlon 60-meter hurdles.
