The Liberty women's tennis team continued its strong fall with its best showing ever at the Residence Inn North/Wolfpack Invitational at N.C. State, this past Friday through Sunday.
Despite fighting injuries to several players, the Lady Flames posted a 10-10 overall mark, its best record ever at the tournament.
In singles, junior Ekaterina Kuznetsova and freshman Jordan Jenkins each finished third in their respective Flight A draws. Both players had 2-1 singles marks, as they each took their first match in straight sets, dropped their quarterfinal match and then captured the third-place contest.
Kuznetsova also had a good weekend, teaming with Fabiana Gouveia in doubles. The pair finished third in draw three of Flight A doubles. In addition, Kutznetsova later teamed with Stephanie Brown to take a tightly played 8-6 decision from Wofford's Sonia Anand and Lauren Prickett.
The Lady Flames will now take a weekend off, before continuing their fall schedule the following weekend at the Virginia Tech Hokie Fall Invitational, Oct. 5-7.
