Liberty Head Football Coach Hugh Freeze held his weekly press conference, Monday, from the Media Room of the Liberty Football Center.
During the weekly press event, Freeze reflected on Liberty’s win over UMass, last Saturday, plus looked ahead to his return to Oxford, Miss., when the Flames face Ole Miss this weekend.
Liberty's (7-2) final road game of the 2021 season will pit the Flames against No. 15/15 Ole Miss (6-2, 3-2 SEC) for the first time, Saturday at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium.
The Flames are meeting an FBS Top 25 opponent for the first time this season and just the fourth time in program history. Liberty is 1-2 all-time against Top 25 foes. The Flames topped No. 9/11 Coastal Carolina 37-34 (OT) in the 2020 Cure Bowl in their most recent Top 25 matchup, Dec. 26, 2020.
Former Ole Miss Head Coach Hugh Freeze (2012-16) will aim to guide Liberty to its first-ever win over an SEC opponent and its first victory in Mississippi.
