For the third time this season, Katy Pridemore has been named the Big South Freshman of the Week for contests played from April 6-12. The honor was announced by the league office earlier this morning.
Pridemore netted 12 goals and handed out four assists this week over a span of three contests. The Vero Beach, Fla., native recorded seven goals in Liberty's 23-9 victory over Presbyterian on Sunday. Pridemore's seven goals set a new program record for the most goals scored in a single contest. Pridemore collected 16 points this week, tying her with Morgan Becker for the most points in a single season in program history with 51. The standout freshman currently has 39 goals this season, ranking fourth in program history for the most goals in a single season. Pridemore needs three goals to pass teammate Sam Struss for the most goals.
Liberty (6-8, 4-0 Big South) returns to action on Friday when it hosts High Point (5-8, 3-1 Big South) at 4 p.m. in the team's regular season home finale. The Lady Flames have won four consecutive contests heading into this weekend's matchup with the Panthers. Friday's showdown will serve as senior day for the Lady Flames.
