
No. 6 Liberty to Host Temple Over the Weekend

No. 6 Liberty will return home for the first time in nearly a month to host Temple in a pair of BIG EAST contests, Saturday and Sunday at the Liberty Field Hockey Field.
Saturday's contest will start at noon. Sunday is Senior Day for the Liberty field hockey team. Prior to the 1 p.m. game, the program will honor its two graduating seniors – Kennedy Luke and Carolyn Haase – with a special Senior Day Ceremony.
The Lady Flames enter the weekend with a 10-2 overall mark and an 8-2 record in BIG EAST competition. Temple brings a 5-7 record and 2-6 BIG EAST mark into Saturday's contest. Liberty has not played at home since a two-game weekend series versus Old Dominion, March 6 and 7
Liberty is 2-0 against Temple so far this season. The Lady Flames picked up a pair of 2-0 shutouts on the road versus the Owls, Feb. 27 and 28 at Howarth Field in Philadelphia, Pa.
Liberty split a pair of games at No. 17 Old Dominion, last weekend. The Lady Flames fell 2-1 to the Monarchs in game one (last Friday) and defeated ODU 4-2 in game two (last Saturday).
Temple went 1-1 against Providence last weekend. The Owls fell 3-2 in a shootout to the Friars in game one and picked up a 1-0 win in game two.
Attendance
Due to COVID-19 and state regulations, capacity at all Liberty Athletics events is under a limited capacity based on social distancing protocols. No public tickets are available for the Liberty Field Hockey Field, and attendance will be limited to a player pass list only.
On game day, the pass list table will open 60 minutes before game time. There will be a tent at the center of the Campus East Fields where team guests can check in.
Masks and social distancing of six feet or more from anyone not in a family or party are required at all times. More game day information and policies can be found at LibertyFlames.com/gameday.

Lady Flames News and Notes
• Liberty has been ranked among the top six teams in the country in each of the first three Penn Monto/NFHCA Division I National Coaches Polls. The Lady Flames garnered a program-best No. 4 national ranking, March 23, the best ranking of any Liberty Athletics sport at the NCAA Division I level.
• Lady Flames sophomore forward Daniella Rhodes earned a spot on the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll for a fourth time this season, Tuesday. Collectively, Liberty has received 18 weekly awards this spring, 14 from the BIG EAST and four at the national level from the NFHCA.
• Liberty is currently No. 3 in the country in the NCAA Field Hockey RPI listing.
• No. 7 UConn (6-1) is the only one-loss team in BIG EAST play and is followed by Liberty (8-2), No. 16 Old Dominion (5-3), Villanova (3-5), Quinnipiac (2-5), Temple (2-6) and Providence (1-5).
• The Lady Flames rank third in the nation in assists per game (3.00), fourth in points per game (9.83), fifth in goals per game (3.42) and scoring average (3.34) and eighth in scoring margin (2.28).
• Rhodes (16 g, 5 a, 37 pts) is No. 2 in the country in points per game (3.08) and No. 3 in goals per game (1.33). Senior forward Jill Bolton (11 g, 10 a, 32 pts.) is sixth in the nation in points per game (2.67) and 14th in goals per game (0.92).
• Liberty is at 4-0 at home in 2021.
• On Monday, the Liberty field hockey program received the 2020 NFHCA National Academic Team Award. The Lady Flames earned the recognition for achieving a team GPA of 3.0 or higher during the first semester of the 2020-21 academic year. Liberty posted a 3.63 GPA during the fall semester and have received the honor in each of the first 10 years of the program's existence.
