Liberty Trails Pack After First Day of VCU Shootout

The Liberty men's golf team sits in last place out of 15 squads after two rounds in the VCU Shootout, at the 6,955-yard, par-72 Hermitage Country Club, in Manakin-Sabot, Va., on Monday.
Wisconsin and Penn State are tied for the lead at 562 after two rounds. Four shots behind the co-leaders is Tennessee-Chattanooga with a 586, sitting at 10-under par.
Kevin Foley of Penn State is leading the individuals at 11-under par after shooting a 133. Close behind Foley is Kevin O'Connell of North Carolina (135) and Jonathan Hodge of Tennessee-Chattanooga (138).
The Flames find themselves in last place after shooting a 601 through two rounds. Liberty trails 14th-place South Florida by nine-strokes entering the final round on Tuesday. The Flames were led by Jay Calvo, who finished at one-over par (145) through two rounds. Jacob Singleton and Nathan Schenz-Davis each shot 151 and sit at seven-over par. Preston Dembowiak shot a 154 and Parker McKoy finished with a 157 after the first two rounds.
The VCU Shootout concludes tomorrow at the 6,995-yard, par-72 Hermitage Country Club.
