
Liberty Moves Up to No. 6 at RU Invitational

After day two of the Radford Invitational, the Liberty Lady Flames moved up a spot to sixth place, with 214 points. The team now sits ahead of No. 7 Millersville (206) and No. 8 North Carolina A&T (15).
Friday's action was highlighted by a fifth-place finish in the 200y medley relay by the team of Brye Ravettine, Amber Kerico, Bethany Wakeley and Sarah McCorkle (1:52.66). The grouping of Dani Fletcher, Lauren Garside, Sarah Kendrick and Kati Masters finished 12th in the same event.
Individually, Wakeley notched a 59.69 time in the 100y butterfly, good for a fifth-place finish. Lindsey Romkes also recorded a top-10 time, clocking a 2:00.13 time in the 200y freestyle to finish No. 7.
Ravettine earned the best Liberty individual finish for the second day in a row, swimming the 100y backstroke in 59.44 for second place. Yesterday, Ravettine won the 50y freestyle.
The Radford Invitational concludes tomorrow, with the preliminaries once again scheduled for 11 a.m., followed by the finals at 6 p.m.
