
LFSN Weekend Recap: Monmouth

The Flames won their fourth game in a row and moved to 3-0 in Big South play with a 34-24 victory over the Monmouth Hawks, Saturday afternoon, at Williams Stadium.
The back-and-forth battle came down to the final 15 minutes of play during which Liberty was able to win its 22nd Big South home game in the last 23 tries.
The score was tied 24-24 heading into the fourth quarter, during which Liberty scored twice and came up with two defensive stops to win the game. Liberty limited Monmouth to a combined negative four total offensive yards during the fourth quarter, while finishing the final 15 minutes of play with 110 total offensive yards.
For the fourth game in a row and the sixth time this year, Liberty scored on its opening drive of the game against Monmouth. The Flames made wise use of their possessions, scoring six times on their 10 drives during the game.
