While preseason practice continues for the 2016 Liberty volleyball season, LFSN reporter Alan York caught up with Head Coach Shane Pinder for an interview.
The Lady Flames enter the 2016 season with half of their 14-player roster consisting of freshmen. These newcomers join a team which posted a 14-14 record last season, including a third-place finish in the Big South regular-season standings. Liberty was voted to finish second in the Big South Volleyball preseason poll, while junior Anna Willey and sophomore Margaret Latchford were both voted to the Preseason All-Big South team.
Liberty will conclude its preseason with its annual Blue-White Scrimmage, held next Tuesday at 6 p.m. inside the Vines Center.
The Lady Flames open their 2016 season by competing in the Kennesaw State Invitational, held Aug. 26-27 in Kennesaw, Ga. Liberty takes on Pittsburgh at 5 p.m. on Aug. 26 to begin the campaign.
