Liberty earned its third Big South series victory of the season last weekend, going 2-1 against Presbyterian in a three-game home set. The weekend also included special dedication ceremonies on Friday, as the field was named Kamphuis Field at Liberty Softball Stadium.
The Lady Flames opened the weekend by sweeping the Blue Hose in a Friday doubleheader. Liberty downed PC, 7-3, during game one, as Kelby Allen, Mickey Loveridge and Kassidy McCoy had two hits each and Alexia Taylor and Madison Kotchey both homered. Kenzie Friesen then shut down the Blue Hose in the nightcap, tossing a two-hit shutout as Liberty won, 2-0. Presbyterian earned a 10-2 win on Saturday to salvage one victory.
Liberty Flames Sports Network (LFSN) was on hand throughout the weekend, and caught up with Friesen, Taylor, Tori Zavodny and head coach Dot Richardson.
The Lady Flames (17-20, 6-6 Big South) close out a nine-game homestand this week, hosting Radford (9-18, 4-4) tomorrow and Wednesday. Tomorrow's doubleheader begins at 2 p.m. at Liberty Softball Stadium.
