Game On Feature: Schmidt Takes Flight

Game On recently featured redshirt junior Eric Schmidt and the multiple ways he takes flight on a daily basis. Not only is he a long jumper on the Liberty men's track & field team, but Schmidt is also an aviation major.
Schmidt's season-best long jump of 22-3.5 ranks him seventh in the Big South Conference, while he also ranks fifth in the triple jump at 43-10.
Schmidt will compete in the Flames' final home meet of the 2014-15 indoor season, Friday and Saturday's Liberty Quad. Some of his teammates will head to Birmingham, Ala., for the Samford Invitational on Friday. These meets will mark Liberty's final tune-ups prior to the 2015 Big South Indoor Track & Field Championships.
