Liberty women's basketball fans will get the chance to run a fast break with their favorite Lady Flames, through a new question-and-answer series. Each Wednesday for the remainder of the 2007-08 season, fans will get to know one player better with a set of quick questions. The series continues today with senior forward Egle Smigelskaite.
What has been your favorite class during your time at Liberty? I have really enjoyed all my marketing classes.
What is your favorite Bible verse? Joshua 1:9--"Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go."
What is Coach Green's favorite word or phrase? "Ladies, put your thinking caps on."
What road trip are you most looking forward to this season? Every trip is pretty amazing with my girls, but the one I'm really looking forward to this year is the trip to Las Vegas.
How many pairs of shoes do you own? I can't count that high in English.
What sporting venue would you most like to visit? The new Washington Nationals ballpark
How many hours per week do you spend on the Internet? Way too many
What team do you consider to be the Lady Flames' biggest rival? Radford
What one possession couldn't you live without? My laptop. That's my connection to my family and friends back home.
What is your favorite shot in basketball? A spin around hook shot from the middle of the lane, or a jumper from the short corner
What is your favorite flavor of ice cream? We are not supposed to eat sweets!
Who is the best player you have ever faced? Jurgita Streimikyte. She is an incredibly intelligent basketball player, who is currently playing for a professional team in Lithuania, and has been a part of WNBA for quite a while. I have played with her for Lithuania's national team.
Who is your favorite author? Paulo Coelho and Francine Rivers
What is your dream car? I would like to own a Jaguar.
What is your favorite season of the year? Early spring and summer
What is your favorite sport to play (other than basketball)? Beach volleyball
What is your favorite sport to watch (other than basketball)? Soccer, volleyball and recently I started really getting into college football
What is your career high for points (at any level)? 35
What was your all-time best Halloween costume? I haven't had many Halloween celebrations (it's not a European festivity), but I would have to say the best costume I ever wore was Marilyn Monroe.
How many hours does it take you to get home from LU? It takes about 13 hours total for the plane trip, plus layovers and the drive to and from the airport. The shortest it ever took me was about 30 hours.
