The 2013 Coastal Collegiate (CCSA) Swimming & Diving Championships have begun, at Gabrielsen Natatorium in Athens, Ga. Tonight's evening session starts at 6 p.m. with the A heats of the 200 freestyle relay, and concludes with the finals in the 400 medley relay.
Liberty had a strong showing in the morning prelims, with 11 student-athletes qualifying for tonight's finals (five in A finals, six in B finals).
Brye Ravettine swam 22.81, qualifying second in the 50 free with an NCAA B qualifying time. Cori Gary (23.06) tied for fourth in qualifying, and Meghan Babcock (23.11) had the seventh fastest 50 free time. Emilie Kaufman swam 2:04.89, good for fourth seed in the 200 individual medley. Emily Duff qualified sixth in the 500 free, at 5:00.98
Tonight's finals will feature pool-side, live blog coverage as the Lady Flames compete in Athens. Look for coverage to begin shortly before the 6 p.m. finals start with an interactive blog, where all are invited to interact with questions and comments.
