As Liberty prepares for its second home meet of the season, LFSN reporter Alan York caught up with sophomore Brittany Weiss.
Weiss, a native of Sellersville, Pa., has won the 100 backstroke five times this season out of six starts. This season, she holds the fastest time in the CCSA in the 100 backstroke, as she won the Frank Elm Invitational 100 backstroke in NCAA B cut time, 54.59. She is the defending CCSA 100 backstroke champion, winning the event in a program-record, NCAA B cut time of 53.42 at the 2017 league meet. Weiss was named the 2017 CCSA Freshman of the Championship Meet.
The Liberty swimming & diving team returns to the Liberty Natatorium for a tri-meet, hosting UNC Asheville and Marshall, Saturday at 11 a.m.
