For the first time this season, redshirt senior and co-captain Morgan Becker has been named the Choice Hotels Big South Women's Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week for contests played between March 31 and April 5.
Becker led the Lady Flames to a Big South-opening victory over Campbell on Saturday in Lynchburg, Va. by a score of 21-11. The Virginia native tied two different single-game records in the victory. Becker netted six goals, tying her own record for goals scored in a single game set back on March 21, 2012 in a 16-15 overtime loss at Bucknell in Lewisburg, Pa.
Becker also recorded three assists in the contest to go along with her six goals, setting her up with a record-tying nine points. Becker tied Karis Walborn's program record for the most points in a single game set against Howard on April 30, 2011.
Becker and the Lady Flames return to action today against Coastal Carolina at 1 p.m. at the Liberty Lacrosse Field.
