
Liberty Upended 18-10 at Jacksonville to Close the Regular Season

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Liberty (10-7, 5-1 ASUN) fell 18-10 in the regular season finale at Jacksonville (10-5, 6-0 ASUN) on Saturday afternoon. The Dolphins claimed the Atlantic Sun regular season championship with the victory.
The Lady Flames fall to the No. 2 seed for next week's ASUN Women's Lacrosse Championship (May 1, 3), hosted in Lynchburg, Va. and the Liberty Lacrosse Field. Jacksonville claims the No. 1 seed at the event.
Jacksonville controlled the game from the first draw, scoring six unanswered to open the contest. The two teams went goal-for-goal over the next 20 minutes of the game. Liberty faced an 11-5 deficit at the half.
Liberty managed to score a single goal in the first half and was outscored 7-5 in the second half.
The Dolphins' Maeve Brennan netted a game-high five goals and eight points (three assists).
Liberty held the advantage in draw controls with a 19-12 advantage. Ava Menna won a team-high nine draws.
