C. Hicks Finishes Team-Best 14th in Virginia Challenge Men’s Hammer

Redshirt freshman Christian Hicks placed a team-best 14th in the men's hammer on Liberty's light opening day of action at the Virginia Challenge on a hot Thursday evening at Lannigan Field.
Hicks' top mark measured 170-11. Teammate Stuart Folkerts finished one spot behind in 15th, topping out at 168-4.
Sofia Mojica paced the Lady Flames in the women's hammer, Liberty's only other event on Thursday. The junior reached 155-5 for 29th place.

Liberty will compete at three different meets on Friday. Most of the Flames and Lady Flames will be in action at the Virginia Challenge (Charlottesville, Va.), with smaller groups headed to the Wake Forest Invitational (Winston-Salem, N.C.) and WildCat Twilight (Lynchburg, Va.)
