
Schultz Posts IC4A Qualifier in Mile

Liberty redshirt senior Colin Schultz notched an IC4A qualifier with his 4:11.78 mile clocking at the Iowa State Classic, Saturday at the Lied Recreation Athletic Center.
Competing at the mile distance for the first time in 2018, Schultz finished just off of his personal best of 4:11.62. The Las Vegas native took ninth place in his heat and 33rd place overall in the event, two spots ahead of defending Big South men's outdoor 1,500 champion Kelvin Kirui of Campbell.
Schultz has now qualified for the IC4A Indoor Track & Field Championships at three different distances this season after recording previous qualifying marks in the 800 (1:51.85) and 1,000 (2:25.13).

Most Liberty athletes will take next weekend off from competition in preparation for the 2018 Big South Indoor Track & Field Championships. For the first time in meet history, the event will take place at the Liberty Indoor Track Complex, Feb. 23-24.
In the meantime, senior Darrel Jones will compete in the men's triple jump at the 2018 USATF Indoor Championships in Albuquerque, N.M. His event is set to take place at 5:05 p.m. Eastern on Feb. 18.
