Student-Athlete Q&A
What made Liberty University the right place for you to attend college/compete at the collegiate level?
It is pretty simple, Liberty is the best place to practice both faith and football.
Is there anything special you do pregame or postgame and why?
I listen to worship music with a towel over my head and read Philippians 4. It allows me to center myself in God and remember that football, no matter the result or performance, is still just a game meant to be fun and a tool I can use to glorify God.
What is your most memorable athletic moment/accomplishment?
It was my sophomore year at Jacksonville State, and we upset Florida State at their place in a nighttime environment.
If you picked your jersey/uniform number, why is that number important to you?
4 was my number since 6th grade, and being a tight having to wear an 80 number my freshman year, I just combined the two and went with 84 and it has stuck.
Do you have any relatives who are playing or have played college or professional sports? (Names, relation to you, what/where they played)?
Brad Jenkins, my dad, played basketball at King University. Jaden Jenkins, my brother, played football at Erskine University. Abie Jenkins, my sister, ran Cross Country/Track at Auburn University at Montgomery.
Favorite meal (breakfast/lunch/dinner) and what is that special meal?
Got to go with some biscuits topped with sausage and eggs, and then all of that covered in some good southern gravy.
What is the first app you check on your phone each day?
Text messages.
What is your favorite hobby outside of athletics?
Golf.
Do you have any current pets (name and type of animal)?
Maverick - Cat
Who was your favorite athlete growing up?
Tim Tebow
What is your favorite possession and why?
My bible - it has done way more for me than I could have ever done for myself, especially during my 6 years of college.
What is your Go-To karaoke song?
Neon Moon - Brooks and Dunn
What is your dream vacation spot and why?
Wyoming, I have always seen and heard but never got to lay eyes on it myself, and it will be my first trip once I finish up football.
