Lynchburg, Va.
Liberty will be looking to send the winningest senior class in program history out with one final home victory, Saturday night, when the Flames host in-state foe VMI in a key Big South showdown at Williams Stadium.
Liberty, ranked No. 16 in the Sports Network and No. 17 in the FCS Coaches polls, will be looking to extend its Big South winning streak to 15-straight games when they take to the turf on Liberty Mountain against the Keydets under the lights.
Liberty has won five of its last six matchups with VMI and is a perfect 3-0 against the Keydets under head coach Danny Rocco. During the last three meetings, Liberty has outscored VMI by an average of 19 points per meeting, as the Flames have averaged 49.7 points per game to the Keydets 30.7 scoring average.
Following Liberty’s final full practice prior to the meeting with the Keydets, LibertyFlames.com had a chance to talk with Rocco after Thursday afternoon’s practice session.
