Today's "Open Net" segment features Lady Flame Silvia Betancourt.

Today, the “Open Net” segment spotlights Silvia Betancourt, a sophomore from San Jose, Costa Rica.

Betancourt, a midfielder, has started all 18 games for the Lady Flames this season. She leads the team with seven goals, which ties her for fourth in the Big South. She has also added an assist for 15 points, tying for seventh in the conference.

Betancourt, a graduate of Liceo Laboratorio High School, has been a member of the Costa Rica Women’s National team.

What is your favorite Bible verse and why?
1 Peter 5:6-7, because it helped me in a situation where I forgot who I was.

What has been your favorite class at Liberty and why?

Old Testament. It was just fascinating.
