Coach’s Corner with Shane Pinder (Audio Interview)

The Liberty volleyball team is coming off one of its most impressive weeks of the 2009 season, as the Lady Flames defeated conference foes Radford, Coastal Carolina and Winthrop on the road. The trio of victories gave Liberty sole possession of second place in the Big South standings at 9-2.
This week, the Lady Flames step out of conference for a Tuesday contest at VCU before returning to the Vines Center for a Saturday matinee against Big South rival Presbyterian.

Recently, head coach Shane Pinder sat down with Nick Pierce to recap the team’s successful road swing and look ahead to this week’s matches.

Some of the topics Pinder and Pierce discussed include:
-- The Lady Flames’ accomplishments last week, as compared with Pinder’s expectations entering the week

-- Courtney Boggs’ chemistry with the Lady Flames’ attackers

-- The Big South weekly honors captured by Chelaine McCarty and Kelly Haseman

-- Loren Thomas’ stellar play last week

-- Whether Liberty’s 3-0 week sends a message to the other Big South teams
