Today, LibertyFlames.com continues its weekly volleyball feature, "Side Out with …" Next up is junior setter Kallie Corbin.
Corbin has been an impact player since arriving on the Liberty campus. She was voted Big South Freshman of the Year and VaSID State Rookie of the Year in her rookie campaign of 2006. Last season, the Beaverton, Ore., native garnered first-team All-Big South recognition and was tabbed MVP of the Big South Championship, as the Lady Flames won their first conference title since 2007.
This season, Corbin has led Liberty to wins in six of its first seven Big South matches. The setter, who already ranks fifth in program history with 3,440 career assists, is currently second in the Big South in assists and sixth in aces.

What is your favorite Bible verse and why?
One of my favorites is Psalm 46:10, "Be still and know that I am God." This verse gives me so much strength and comfort, because it reminds me there is someone looking over me.
What type of music do you like to listen to?
I love to listen to all kinds of music, especially musicals, Christian, country and a little bit of R&B.
What is your favorite play in volleyball?
My favorite play in volleyball is when we are relentless and make amazing plays to win long rallies.
What is your favorite sport to play (other than volleyball)?
One of my favorite sports is snowboarding.
How did you start playing volleyball?
My sister was the one who introduced me to volleyball. Being the younger sister, I felt it was my obligation to follow my older sister in whatever she decided to do. So, after my sister's first year playing volleyball, I at age 12 got to be part of a volleyball team for the first time.
The actress who would play me in a movie is …
The actress who would play me would have to be Sutton Foster, because she is spunky and down to earth.
What is your nickname and how did you pick it up?
I don't really have a nickname, but my Dad likes to call me "Fiver" because I wear the number 5.
The most famous person I've met is …
I guess David Hyde Pierce, who played Niles Crane on Frasier.
My favorite restaurant is …
The Mad Greek Deli, which is a local favorite in Beaverton, Ore., due to its famous Mad Greek Chicken sandwich and traditional Greek style.
A couple items on my "Bucket List" include …
1) Traveling outside the country.
2) Getting to work on a movie set or theatre stage has always been a huge dream of mine.
3) I definitely want to get married and have a family.
4) Specifically to the time in my life now, I want to make it to the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
