Today, LibertyFlames.com continues its weekly volleyball feature, "Side Out with …" Next up is sophomore outside hitter/defensive specialist Karyl Bacon.

Bacon, one of two California natives on the 2008 Liberty volleyball roster, quickly became a fan favorite as a freshman. Despite standing only 5-6, she earned a starting position at outside hitter and posted five double-doubles in her first six collegiate matches. Bacon finished her freshman campaign with 225 kills and ranked eighth in the Big South with 435 digs.

This season, Bacon has helped Liberty get off to a 9-4 start, thanks in part to her versatility. At times, she has played outside hitter, including a 15-kill performance in the Lady Flames' come-from-behind triumph over George Mason on Sept. 5. The sophomore has also seen action at the libero spot, and helped Liberty record its first-ever win over a Division I team from California, contributing a team-high 14 digs in Sunday's 3-0 sweep of UC Irvine.

There are too many to choose from, but I love any place that serves Mexican food.
