Liberty head men’s basketball coach Ritchie McKay has made the field of 65 in this year’s Runway to the Fashionable 4, presented by CollegInsider.com. The Runway to the Fashionable 4 is an entertaining way to determine the best-dressed coaches in men’s college basketball. The website has run the event since 1998, coinciding with the NCAA Tournament, and is headed up by Angela Lento, co-founder of CollegeInsider.com.

“It is such a great honor to be a part of the tournament,” said McKay. “You work hard all year preparing for this moment by going to countless glamour malls and outlet stores. I am very excited the hard work paid off.”

McKay earned a No. 9 seed in the West bracket and will face off with No. 8 seed Washington head coach Lorenzo Romar in the first round.

“I am very happy we are a nine seed,” commented McKay. “But when I first grabbed a glimpse of the bracket and saw we would be facing Lorenzo Romar, who is not only a dear friend, but a sharply dressed cat, needless to say I know this is going to be a big challenge. We will need to pull out all the stops from the cufflinks to the matching tie and hanky, for us to get by such a worthy foe.”

Three other coaches from the Big South made the field of 65, including Brad Greenberg of Radford, who faced off with his brother Seth of Virginia Tech in the “Style-In Contest”. Seth got the better of Brad and will face No. 1 seed Rick Pitino of Louisville in the Southeast bracket, as the No. 16 seed. Randy Peele of Winthrop and Bart Lundy of High Point each were awarded No. 14 seeds.

Once again Seth Greenberg will be providing insight and analysis, as he will be writing the columns, recapping all of the results. And this year Seth will get fashion analysis provided by Jay Bilas.

“Seth (Greenberg) has really worked hard over the years to continue to elevate his game to the level he is at,” said McKay. “He is a great guy who has a tremendous eye for talent, and I think he will do an excellent job helping to grow this event.”

Should McKay defeat his friend Romar in the first round, he will the face the winner of the No. 1 Tom Pecora of Hofstra versus No. 16 Tom Parrotta of Canisius matchup.

“The Runway to the Fashionable 4 is a great event that coincides with the NCAA Tournament,” said McKay. “Angela (Lento) and her staff have really put something on that we can all get excited about in between the NCAA Tournament games.”
